Hi, I'm Ron Yap, creator of @mentalhealthceo on Instagram and Founder of Inner Hero Therapy.
Before I became a therapist, I was in therapy, facing the same issues you probably do now: insecurity, fear, loneliness, and an overwhelming feeling of emptiness and purposelessness.
And over the past 5 years of being on both sides of the therapist chair, I've realized the key reason why you can be in healing for years but still be in the same, painful place as before:
Who you are inside hasn’t really changed.
That is, your true inner self hidden behind the masks you wear has remained the same.
When your core identity remains the same, you will always be stuck in survival mode, no matter how hard you try to think or act differently.
This is why you can’t envision a meaningful or happy life for yourself—because your mind is only concerned with survival.
This is why you can’t commit to the goals and habits you set for yourself despite telling yourself to.
This is why you’re always living life in fear, waiting for the next disaster or catastrophe.
It's not that you're 'unfixable' or 'broken'.
It’s that you’re trying to use your old identity to unlock opportunities it cannot open... because this old identity is all you’ve ever known.
True healing means changing your identity — the one that lies beneath your outer self.
It means healing your Inner Child wounds for good.
